Extended range of awarding and assessment services now available to iCQ customers

As part of joining The Workforce Development Trust, iCQ customers can now access a range of regulated qualifications and End-Point Assessments from our sister organisation, SFJ Awards.

This gives you an extended range adding over 150 qualifications, and assessment services for 15+ apprenticeship standards.

What do SFJ Awards offer qualifications and assessments in?

SFJ Awards are sector specialists for the protective services – covering fire and rescue, fire safety, policing, prisons and probation and other justice sector services, private security, protective security and resilience organisations.

By working across the public services, and bringing their expertise into private sector qualifications, they add a wealth of expert development to improve skills and jobs that keep us safe.

Qualification ranges that might appeal to iCQ centres include:

• Security (including SIA linked qualifications and protective security)
• Spectator safety
• Fire safety (commercial and residential systems)
• Management
• Fraud

They also offer EPAs for peer workers, fire safety professionals, and security professionals.

Fast-track approval for iCQ centres

A fast-track approval process is being set up, meaning that iCQ recognised centres can deliver SFJ Awards qualifications quicker due to their existing approval with us. By working collaboratively we can reduce the amount of work required by centres to take up new qualifications with SFJ Awards. Centres must consent to their iCQ centre data being shared to be eligible for fast-track approval.

In the future, we will be looking at how we can further support centres and customers in taking qualifications from both organisations – looking for opportunities to reduce the administrative burden while helping to manage and track learning and development programmes.
